Professional
Organizations Related To Counseling
www.AmericanMentalHealth.com
This American Mental Health Alliance is the only
multi-disciplinary professional organization of its kind in the
country. It's mission is to support and market competent,
ethical
mental health services that preserve privacy and confidentiality.
This alliance of professional therapists is concerned about
the
effects of managed care policies, insurers, and other corporate
influences on medicine and therapy. The AMHA provides
information
about psychotherapy, controversies surrounding managed care, and
alternatives. The AMHA actively works against corporate
(managed
care, etc.) attempts to claim virtual right to define proper therapy
and in favor of collective knowledge of tens of thousands of
psychologists, social worker, licensed professional counselors, nurse
practitioners, and psychiatrists, etc..
My
site within the American Mental Health site has
much less info than this site but it does include a little resume.
